More About Us...

Beth Maloney started Horses & Courses in June 1999 to provide equine home study programmes to students who wanted to understand more about their horses or obtain a nationally recognised qualification but were unable to attend a full time college course.

Horses & Courses is an Edexcel Approved Centre offering both BTEC and short courses in a wide range of equine subjects.

Working with a wide variety of equine experts, Horses & Courses has developed a variety of comprehensive equine programmes, providing high quality training to hundreds of students from all over the world. Beth Maloney began her equestrian career training with Olympic dressage rider Jennie Loriston-Clarke at the famous Catherston Stud in Hampshire.

She went on to achieve her British Horse Society BHSAI and Intermediate Stable Managers certificate and gain Distinction in the HND in Equine Studies at Warwickshire College.  Beth lectured in FE and HE equine studies for 6 years, publishing Nutrition and The Feeding of Horses (Swan Hill Press) and The Equine Body (Allens Publishers) before leaving to set up Horses & Courses.

Alongside working as the MD for Horses & Courses, Beth continued her career in Further Education, working as Head of Equine in Colleges, and most recently as Assistant Principal for a large general FE College.  She holds a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) and is currently acting as Director of Participation at the British Equestrian Federation and as a board member of the Advancing Equine Science Excellence organisation.
